Organic Clothing

What organic clothing designers know now is that no one wants to sacrifice their taste to save the planet. Unless your first name is Rainbow and you live in a commune practicing naked yoga and if your naked then your not in need of fashion anyway. So some time around the death of tie-dye and when Patagonia (the label) caught word of this thing called organic cotton, organic clothing started to get cool. To this day organic clothing still hovers under the radar for most, but around 2006 there was a ground breaking revolution and organic cotton started showing up at Walmart. There was some criticism that they didn't use enough to worth mention, but the truth is if big chains like Target and Walmart did they'd wipe out the supply and cut into their gargantuan profits and the world would become a very confusing place. We like it just the way it is capitalism vrs cause (kidding!). Their customers probably don't give a rat's derrière anyway.

Now many high end labels have incorporated viscose from bamboo, organic cotton and soy fibers into their lines. Their customers are appreciating it and gushing about their new seaweed based unitard in the change room at afternoon Hatha. The great thing is you don't have to bend and stretch to wear organic, you'll find t-shirts, jeans, dresses, office and formal wear in organic fabrics. So in no uncertain terms do you have to sacrifice style, you can be a closet activist . . . literally.
